Then a verse and a few minutes with it

When the game ends, win or lose, the word's verse appears, with a short devotion written for it: a few paragraphs, two questions to reflect on, and a prayer.

He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?Micah 6:8, BSB
The devotion for MERCY: What the Lord requires, with Micah 6:8 and the start of the reflection.

Find the hidden words in a verse

Verses hides two to four words from a well-known verse. Each word comes with a starting guess already coloured, and one guess to find it: only one word fits.

A guess that doesn't fit the colours doesn't count, so a typo won't cost you the word. Find them all and the verse appears, each word in its own colour.

John 3:16 completed: loved, world and perish found and highlighted in the verse.

Missed a day? Play it later

History keeps every puzzle from the day you start, with your streak and how many guesses each one took. Tap a day on the calendar to look back at it, or to play one you missed.

History: 15 played, 93% solved, a streak of 5, and November's calendar with one day still to play.

Hints when you want them

Most days the word comes from the Bible's pages; now and then it's a person or a place. The clue tells you which. The keyboard can shade the letters still in play, and the suggestions show what to try next.

All three are off until you turn them on.

Hints on after SLATE: the clue says a word, not a name; the keyboard is shaded; five suggested guesses.

The name

Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.Matthew 5:18, KJV

A jot is yod, the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet. A tittle is the tiny stroke of the pen that tells one letter from another. In this game, every letter counts.
